dragonfly-sa62-saddle-dripper
DragonFly SA62 Saddle Dripper

The DragonFly SA62 Saddle Dripper is a bone china conical pour-over dripper with a 62° wall angle and an original coral-pattern groove system designed for a fast, even drawdown. Sized for 1–2 servings and compatible with standard Hario V60 01 and 02 cone filters, the SA62 is available in Lilac, Grey, and Black, as a dripper only or bundled with the DragonFly Bamboo Conical Dripper Holder and SA62 Silicone Ring.

Coral-Pattern Grooves for a Faster, More Even Flow

Inside the SA62 Saddle Dripper, twelve long grooves run from the rim to the outlet, evenly spaced around the wall. Eight shorter, curved grooves branch off them in a coral-like pattern, an original DragonFly Design Center geometry. Together, these channels give water more surface area along the cone wall and a more direct path toward the outlet. The result is a quick, consistent drawdown that reduces the risk of uneven extraction caused by water pooling or channeling through the coffee bed.

Switch-Base Compatibility for Hybrid Brewing

A ring molded into the base of the SA62 Saddle Dripper allows it to seat on the DragonFly Transit Switch Base. In that configuration, the brewer gains control over when the brew drains, which is useful for recipes that call for an immersion phase before the drawdown. Without the base, the SA62 functions as a standard fast-flowing cone dripper. The optional DragonFly Bamboo Conical Dripper Holder with SA62 Silicone Ring provides a stable platform for traditional pour-over use.

Bone China Body with a Tang Dynasty Relief

The SA62 Saddle Dripper is made from new bone china, heat-resistant to 120°C (248°F) and safe for dishwashers, microwave ovens, and dish dryers. The outer wall carries a repeating raised relief modeled on the saddle shape found in Tang Dynasty tri-color pottery (sancai): three-dimensional, slightly upturned at the edges, and arranged in a regular pattern using a contemporary design language. The motif references the horse and saddle figures of Tang Dynasty ceramics and marks 2026 as the Year of the Horse.

Features

Coral-pattern groove system: Twelve long grooves plus eight curved short grooves speed up flow and support even extraction.

62° wall angle: Sets the coffee bed shape and accepts standard Hario V60 01 and 02 cone paper filters.

New bone china construction: Heat-resistant to 120°C (248°F); dishwasher, microwave, and dish-dryer safe.

Transit Switch Base compatible: Base ring seats on the DragonFly Transit Switch Base for hybrid immersion-to-drawdown brewing.

Tang Dynasty saddle relief exterior: Raised three-dimensional pattern referencing Tang Dynasty sancai ceramics.

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Material

New bone china

Wall Angle

62°

Capacity

1–2 servings

Filter Compatibility

Hario V60 01 or 02 cone paper filter; also compatible with Origami 2Cup, Hiflux High Fast Folding V01, and Sibarist Cone S

Dimensions

112 mm top diameter × 34 mm bottom diameter × 73 mm height

Weight (net)

216 g

Weight (packaged)

316 g

Heat Resistance

Up to 120°C (248°F)

Care

Dishwasher safe; microwave and dish-dryer safe

Compatible Base

DragonFly Transit Switch Base (sold separately)

Optional Holder

DragonFly Bamboo Conical Dripper Holder with SA62 Silicone Ring (available as a bundle option)

Colors Available

Lilac, Grey, Black

Origin

Made in China

Included

DragonFly SA62 Saddle Dripper × 1

Who This Is For and Isn't

The SA62 Saddle Dripper suits home brewers and specialty coffee enthusiasts who want a fast-draining cone for 1–2 cup recipes and value the flexibility to brew as a standard pour-over or, with the DragonFly Transit Switch Base, as a hybrid immersion-drawdown brewer.
