flair-espresso-scale
Flair Espresso Scale with Auto-Timer and Flow-Rate Indicator

The Flair Espresso Scale is a compact, USB-C rechargeable digital scale designed for espresso and pour over brewing, offering three dedicated modes, an automatic tare-and-timer, and a live flow-rate light bar. It measures up to 2,000 grams in grams or ounces and fits a 95 x 90 x 16 mm footprint.

Three Modes Built Around How You Actually Brew

The Flair Espresso Scale's Smart Espresso Mode removes the manual steps that interrupt a shot. Place your cup and the scale tares automatically; when espresso begins to flow, the timer starts on its own. The shot ends when the cup is removed or the weight holds steady for 10 seconds, at which point the scale displays your results with no button presses mid-pull.

Smart Pour Over Mode tracks the full brew sequence in one pass. The scale records your dry coffee dose, tares for water, and starts timing as you pour. When you finish, it reports the coffee-to-water ratio, total water added, and brew time: the three numbers most useful for repeating or adjusting a recipe. Manual Mode leaves timing and weighing fully in your hands for any other workflow.

Flow Rate at a Glance

The Flair Espresso Scale includes a flow-rate light bar that gives a continuous visual read on how fast liquid is moving through the puck or filter. For espresso, this makes it easier to catch a channeling shot or an under-extracted pull in real time rather than after the fact. For pour over, it helps maintain a consistent pour speed across multiple brews without watching the scale display directly.

Rechargeable and Ready to Use

The Flair Espresso Scale charges via USB-C and includes a battery indicator that flashes when charge is low, so it does not go dark mid-session without warning. A three-position power switch (Off, On, and On Silent) lets you mute all audio feedback when working in a quiet space. Units switch between grams and ounces with a double tap.

Features

Smart Espresso Mode: auto-tares on cup placement, auto-starts timer at flow, ends and displays results when the shot stops.

Smart Pour Over Mode: records dose, auto-tares for water, times the pour, and reports ratio, total water, and brew time.

Flow-rate light bar: continuous visual indicator of pour or extraction speed.

USB-C rechargeable: lithium battery with low-charge indicator; cable included.

Silent mode: three-position switch (Off / On / On Silent) for quiet environments.

Grams or ounces: unit toggle via double tap; 2,000 g maximum capacity.

Specifications

Specification

Value

Dimensions

95 x 90 x 16 mm

Maximum Capacity

2,000 g

Units

g / oz

Modes

Manual, Smart Espresso, Smart Pour Over

Battery

Lithium, USB-C rechargeable

In the Box

Scale, transparent dosing tray, branded silicone sleeve, USB-C charging wire, instruction manual

Who This Is For and Isn't

The Flair Espresso Scale suits home brewers who want hands-free timing and automatic tare during espresso shots or pour over sessions, and who value a compact footprint (95 x 90 mm) that fits under most portafilters and pour over setups. It works equally well paired with a Flair manual espresso maker or any other brew method.

The Flair Espresso Scale has a 2,000 g maximum capacity, which makes it unsuitable for batch brewing or green-coffee dosing at larger volumes. It does not connect to a smartphone app or output data to external logging software.

Common Questions

Does the Flair Espresso Scale start the timer automatically, or do I have to press a button?

In Smart Espresso Mode, the Flair Espresso Scale starts its timer automatically when it detects espresso beginning to flow; no button press is needed. Placing the cup triggers an automatic tare, and the scale ends the shot and displays results when the cup is removed or the weight stops changing for 10 seconds.

What does the flow-rate light bar show?

The flow-rate light bar on the Flair Espresso Scale is a visual indicator of how quickly liquid is moving, whether through an espresso puck or during a pour over. It updates continuously so you can adjust your pour speed or catch an uneven extraction without looking away from the brew to read a number on the display.

What is included in the box with the Flair Espresso Scale?

The Flair Espresso Scale ships with a transparent dosing tray, a branded silicone sleeve, a USB-C charging wire, and an instruction manual. No separate power adapter is included; the scale charges from any standard USB-C power source.

Can the Flair Espresso Scale be used for pour over as well as espresso?

Yes. The Flair Espresso Scale includes a dedicated Smart Pour Over Mode that records the dry coffee dose, tares automatically for water, times the pour, and reports the coffee-to-water ratio, total water added, and brew time when you finish. Manual Mode is also available for any other brewing method.

How does the Flair Espresso Scale charge, and how do I know when the battery is low?

The Flair Espresso Scale uses a USB-C rechargeable lithium battery; a USB-C charging wire is included in the box. A battery indicator on the scale flashes when the charge is low, giving advance notice before the scale loses power mid-session.

New to Flair?
