aeropress-stainless-steel-filter-standard
AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter Standard Size

The AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter is a reusable metal coffee filter made from premium grade 316 stainless steel, designed for use with standard-size AeroPress coffee makers including the Original, Clear, Go, Go Plus, Premium, and Steel models. Fine filtration keeps grounds out while allowing flavorful coffee oils to pass through, producing a fuller-bodied cup than paper filters. Conceived and designed in the USA and manufactured in China.

Fuller Body, Less Waste

The AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter uses fine metal filtration to hold back coffee grounds while letting the natural oils in your coffee pass through into the cup. Those oils carry much of the weight, texture, and aromatic complexity of the bean, the same quality that makes French press coffee feel rich and satisfying. The result is a noticeably fuller-bodied brew compared to what paper micro-filters produce, without the sediment that unfiltered methods leave behind.

Built from a Better Grade of Steel

Not all stainless steel filters are the same material. The AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter is made from 316 stainless steel, a premium food-safe grade that is significantly more durable and corrosion-resistant than the 304 grade stainless steel used in most competing metal filters. For a filter that will be rinsed, dried, and reused hundreds of times, that difference in grade matters for longevity and for keeping the filter free of rust or off-flavors over time.

Easy to Clean, Easy to Travel With

After each brew, the AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter rinses clean under running water in seconds, or goes straight into the dishwasher on the top rack. Because it is reusable indefinitely, it eliminates the need to stock paper filters at home or pack them for travel. At 2.5 inches in diameter, it fits the same filter seat as the standard AeroPress paper micro-filters and drops into any compatible AeroPress brewer without any adapter.

Features

Premium 316 stainless steel: more durable and corrosion-resistant than 304 grade steel used in other metal filters

Fine filtration: keeps grounds out while allowing flavorful coffee oils through for a fuller-bodied cup

Reusable and sustainable: eliminates single-use paper filter waste

Easy to clean: rinse and dry, or dishwasher safe on the top rack

Standard size: compatible with AeroPress Original, Clear, Go, Go Plus, Premium, and Steel coffee makers

Designed in the USA: conceived and designed in the USA, manufactured in China

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Material

Food-safe 316 stainless steel

Diameter

2.5 inches

Weight

13 g

Filtration type

Fine metal mesh

Dishwasher safe

Yes, top rack only

Compatible brewers

AeroPress Original, Clear, Go, Go Plus, Premium, Steel

Not compatible with

AeroPress XL coffee makers

Origin

Designed in the USA, manufactured in China

Who This Is For and Isn't

The AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter suits AeroPress users who prefer a fuller-bodied cup with more of the bean's natural oils in the brew, want to stop buying disposable paper filters, or brew frequently at home, in the office, or while traveling. It is a direct drop-in replacement for standard AeroPress paper micro-filters in any compatible standard-size AeroPress model.

This filter is not compatible with AeroPress XL coffee makers; the XL requires a larger filter size. It is also not the right choice for brewers who specifically prefer the cleaner, oil-free, grit-free cup that paper micro-filters produce; for that profile, AeroPress paper filters are the better fit. Because it is made of stainless steel, it is not compostable.

Common Questions

How does the AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter change the flavor of the coffee compared to a paper filter?

The AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter allows the natural oils in coffee to pass through into the cup, producing a somewhat fuller-bodied brew with more weight and aromatic complexity than paper-filtered AeroPress coffee. Paper micro-filters trap those oils, resulting in a cleaner, smoother, grit-free cup. The choice between the two comes down to the drinker's preference for body versus clarity.

Which AeroPress brewers is this filter compatible with?

The AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter in standard size is compatible with the AeroPress Original, Clear, Go, Go Plus, Premium, and Steel coffee makers. It is not compatible with AeroPress XL coffee makers, which require a larger filter size.

What grade of stainless steel is used, and why does it matter?

The AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter is made from food-safe 316 stainless steel, a premium grade that is significantly more durable and corrosion-resistant than the 304 grade stainless steel used in most other metal coffee filters. For a filter rinsed and reused daily, the higher grade helps maintain performance and resist rust or off-flavors over time.

Can the AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter go in the dishwasher?

Yes, the AeroPress Stainless Steel Filter is dishwasher safe on the top rack.
